Small Development Projects
GOI has committed to provide Rs 700 cr to RGoB for Small Development Projects (SDPs) under RGoB’s 10th FYP. SDPs are key projects in RGoB’s developmental plans focusing on addressing rural poverty. These community-based short gestation projects are in areas of drinking water, health facilities, schools, Renewable Natural Resources Centers, Gup Offices, local government administrative offices and community hall, farm roads, bridges and construction of irrigation channels, and cover all 20 Dzongkhags (districts) and 205 Gewogs (sub-districts) of Bhutan. Presently 1888 SDPs are under implementation all across Bhutan in 3 phases, of which more than 1200 have been completed. Another about 150 SDPs are expected to be added this year.
