Visit of Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar to Bhutan

Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, accompanied by a high level official delegation comprising Secretaries from Departments of Energy and Tourism visited Bhutan from 4-7 May, 2011. He received an audience with H.M. the King and called on Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bhutan. He also held meetings with Ministers for Economic Affairs and Home and Culture. The delegation also made a presentation on tourism in Bihar. Tourism was the main area of discussions. The possibility of providing a package of Buddhist circuits in Bihar to Bhutanese tourists/pilgrims was discussed. Chief Minister of Bihar also expressed interest in hydro power sector.
