(i)  At the 4th Board Meeting of the India-Bhutan Foundation held in May 2007, a project relating to weavers exchange between India and Bhutan to be executed by the Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) was approved. Following this, a delegation of Panchachuli Women Weavers (Jan Jagaran Samiti), Almora, Uttaranchal, India, visited Bhutan from November 15-23, 2007 and interacted with local weavers in Thimphu and Bumthang with a view to exchanging expertise on design innovation, natural dye technology, production and marketing of their products, etc. Similarly a group of Bhutanese weavers from Bumthang visited Panchachuli weaving centres in Almora from November 29-December 8, 2007. The visits have helped weavers from both countries in gaining knowledge from each other’s experience and rich heritage.



(ii)  Under the Cultural Exchange Programme between Sherubtse College, Kanglung, and Guwahati University, Assam, a 23-member delegation of students from Guwahati University visited Bhutan from September 20-22, 2007 and gave dance performances at the Sherubtse College, Kanglung. The visit was supported by the India-Bhutan Foundation.
