Bhutanese traveling  to India

Bhutanese donot require a visa for India. Other countries nationals who require avisa may approach the Indian Embassy.

One can enter India from Bhutan by land route or by regular Druk Airservice from Paro airport for Delhi and Kolkata.

Indians traveling  to Bhutan

By Road

Indians do not require a visa to visitBhutan. They are however required to complete certain formalities at theIndian Liasion Office in Phuentsholing town for which proof of Indian identity(ration card, I-card, passport, etc.) and four passport size photographsare required. They can enter Bhutan either by land or by air from Kolkataand Delhi availing the services of Druk Air.

It takes about 51/2 to 7 hours to reach Thimphu by road from Phuentsholingtown. Taxis are available from Phuentsholing to Thimphu. Share taxis and regular bus services are also available. For Indians who want to bring their own vehicle, permit has to be made for the vehicle and the driver as well. Permits are generally issued for seven days and are valid for Thimphu and Paro. For extension or to visit other areas, permission has to be sought from Immigration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs  

By Air

Indians can also enter Bhutan by air from Kolkata and Delhi availing the services of Druk Air. Recently, Druk Air has started operations to Bodhgaya also.
It is advised that Indians traveling by Air should get their tickets booked well in advance of their journey.

Climate

During winter (November to March) the minimum temperature drops to minus 10 in the Thimphu valley. Summers (April-June) are very pleasant. One should avoid traveling during the rainy season (July-September)

Places to visit: Thimphu, Paro, Punakha, Wangdiphodrang, Bumthang. Special permits are however required to visit towns other from Thimphu and Paro.
