Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Mrs. Esha Srivastava handed over cheques worth Nu. 526.82 million to Gross National Happiness Commission’s Secretary, Dasho Thinley Namgyel in Thimphu
Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India Mrs. Esha Srivastava handed over cheques amounting to Nu. 526.82 million (Nu. 101.82 million for GoI Project Tied Assistance projects and Nu. 425 million for Programme Grant) to Dasho Thinley Namgyal ,Secretary GNHC on 08th March 2017.
This release of funds of worth Nu. 526.82 million will fund (1) Development of Infrastructure & Teaching, College of Natural Resource (2) Development of Infrastructure & Teaching, Institute of Language & Cultural Studies, Taktse (3) 14th Installment of Development Subsidy (Programme Grant) for the period October-December 2016.
Government of India has committed Nu. 50,000 million in the 11th FYP to Royal Government of Bhutan. The detailed break-up of the commitment is: Nu. 28,000 million for Project Tied Assistance (PTA), Nu. 8,500 million for Program Grant (PG), Nu. 8,500 million for Small Development Projects (SDP) and Nu. 8,500 million for Economic Stimulus Plan.
As on date, Government of India has released Nu. 16675.34 million for GoI PTA projects, Nu. 5950 million for Program Grant, Nu. 5771.68 million for SDP and Nu. 4400 million for Economic Stimulus Plan to RGoB. In total, GoI has released Nu. 32797.03 million to RGoB which is 66 % of total GOI commitment for the 11th Five Year Plan Period.
