First Secretary (Eco & Com), Embassy of India Mr. S. Koventhan handed over cheques amounting to Nu. 109 million to Mr. Passang Dorji, Program Coordinator, GNHC on 23rd March 2017.
This release of funds of worth Nu. 109 million will fund (1) Construction of Royal Institute of Law (2) Development of Infrastructure & Teaching, Gaeddu College of Business Studies
Government of India has committed Nu. 50,000 million in the 11th FYP to Royal Government of Bhutan. The detailed break-up of the commitment is: Nu. 28,000 million for Project Tied Assistance (PTA), Nu. 8,500 million for Program Grant (PG), Nu. 8,500 million for Small Development Projects (SDP) and Nu. 8,500 million for Economic Stimulus Plan.
As on date, Government of India has released Nu. 16784 million for GoI PTA projects, Nu. 5950 million for Program Grant, Nu. 5772 million for SDP and Nu. 4400 million for Economic Stimulus Plan to RGoB. In total, GoI has released Nu. 32906 million to RGoB which is 66 % of total GOI commitment for the 11th Five Year Plan Period.
